"America Is Not The World": When I go to Mexico people are fascinated with the American (U.S.) culture. Something that I do not like at all. McDonalds are being built left and right, and all these U.S. companies, like a Wal-mart at pyramid ruins. I do wish that kind of stuff would not have made it to Mexico.

"I Have Forgiven Jesus": The thing about Morrissey lyrics is that all of us fans - even people that might listen to Moz or the Smiths for the very first time - are able to relate to that same feeling in what he says in his lyrics. When I heard this song I heard myself six years back when my best friend's mother died of cancer. I was saying, "Jesus, why did you not work this miracle for me? Why did you not answer my prayers? Why did you take her away? Why am I still here? I believed in you and I felt betrayed." Not that I have always been religious but I do pray.

"Come Back To Camden," "First Of The Gang To Die," and "I'm Not Sorry" are my three favourite songs on You Are The Quarry because they are all very cleverly written and are sung perfectly. "Come Back To Camden" has a wonderful tune on it. "First Of The Gang To Die" is very catchy and will grab the attention of anyone even if they are for some insane reason not a Morrissey fan. "I'm Not Sorry" is a song with humour and wit, but written completely differently to what I expected from a song of this title.

"Come Back To Camden" is a favorite because of its poetic and heartfelt delivery of the lyrics. I remember listening to this track multiple times in a row the first time I listened to the album, and I remember crying on about the fifth time it repeated. "I'm Not Sorry": "and I'm / not sorry for / for the things I've said" - strength and defiance in a Cantona style! My three favourite songs - "I'm Not Sorry," "All The Lazy Dykes" and "First Of The Gang To Die" - all show different strengths of the Moz, lyrically and as a singer. Essentially though, it is the feel of the songs which impresses me most. People often misinterpret Moz as miserable, yet I think he possesses real warmth and affection for different and interesting groups of people.

"The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores," "Let Me Kiss You" and "You Know I Couldn't Last" are my three favourite songs on You Are The Quarry because lyrically I find them to be outstanding - full of wit and emotion - and musically I find them to be very strong and among the most fitted in their production. They sound perfect on the record and I couldn't imagine them being any better. They are also three of Morrissey's greatest vocals ever.

I just could not wait for him to release this song. "First Of The Gang To Die": It was such a relief to hear it played on the radio as much as it was and getting as much credit as it did because it is a marvelous pop song.
